Some Summer memories for you as we slip quietly into autumn.
The garden has been giving lots of pleasure....more about that later
I grew some sunflowers this year.....8 seeds germinated out of ten then slugs ate four which left me with four!
We had a walk around Holmfirth
Milo was photo bombed by daisy's little legs on the wardrobe!
I read lots over the holidays
visited the newly restored Piece Hall in Halifax
I Played lots with the cats.....Daisy likes chasing windfall apples and Milo likes chasing sticks.....Misty climbs the trees!
I met Lynn my blogging friend in Todmorden.
We started with a coffee then a mooch around the secondhand market then a lovely lunch at the Old Co-Op
On the way home I spotted a patch of beautiful wild flowers in our village

Some days in the summer holiday it was grey, dull or rainy and those were the days the cats and I snuggled up and stayed warm and dry inside.
I tried very hard to tidy my workroom!!
I met some friends for afternoon tea
Then I relived my youth when Hubby and I went to see Heaven 17 at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth
The hair had gone but the sparkly suits and great voice was still there!
Mum and I went to New Brighton for the day
I went back to the Piece hall to meet up with friends on another day
and popped into the Square Chapel next door

My room got a little tidier!
after Hubby took five 4 foot high piles of magazines to the tip to be recycled!!!
Oh my goodness, so many memories here. Trips to Holmfirth when I used to live in Mossley not too far away; Todmorden; summer trips to New Brighton; last and certainly not least, The Beatles! Thank you for all your lovely photos. Love your cats, what characters!
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your piles of magazines. That used to be me too - I just could not bear to give them away. However, having moved abroad I could neither bring them all with me or afford to subscribe to many. I now just buy 'Country Living' which I have bought since it first came out all those years ago. I have so little storage space that I pass it on to a friend and indulge myself in an additional online subscription on 'Zinio'. It's not the same as a proper magazine but having read the proper one cover to cover several times, it's nice to know I can retrieve articles in the future. Lots of familiar magazines are available on Zinio which, along with Kindle, is a boon to us with no space/not in the UK!

What a wonderful summer you have enjoyed. Your darling cats have obviously enjoyed having more time with you. I had to google The Piece Hall. What an incredible restoration. Grow Wild is looking very successful. No wonder you stopped to take pics of your village wildflowers and then there is so much beauty in your own garden. Happy autumn!

Went to the re-opening of the Piece Hall and to the Enchanted Chandelier event there (which was incredible). And Todmorden was the first place I got to know in this area. Camped on the edge of the Cricket Pitch several times and had breakfast in The Bear / Old Co-op. Free internet is a great draw when you are away from home and house hunting!
