May time

May is such a glorious time in the garden.
Our garden had got into a very sorry state over the years...the extension took up all our energy and we neglected it so much. It was like a wilderness near to the top, so bad I stopped going up there as it was just so over whelming. Then we decided enough was enough and last year had all the hard landscaping done and large trees trimmed and this has breathed new life into it. Now we have the fun bit of planting up the new beds...
The cats just love playing in the garden too!

When we trimmed the apple trees I couldn't throw the old branches so popped them into a vase and watched the buds open in the dining room.

We treated ourselves to a meal out at the Hinchliffe Arms

and very nice it was too!
 back to the garden.....

looking down from the orchard (three apple trees, one plum and an ornamental cherry!)

a rare photo of Misty who has an aversion to the camera!

We have even managed a few meals outside so far this year.

and I even had a day slow stitching outside

but someone took a fancy to my chair!

One thing I am very pleased about is my wisteria, It was trained over an old wood pergola that slowly rotted away. My brother in law cut it back into a standard and I was worried it would not enjoy being a little tree and wondered if it would ever flower again.....

 ....it has!

so this was a round up of the garden in May. One day I will do a blog post all about the garden and show lots of before and after photos.
We did indulge in a little Royal Wedding watching....
We had lots of outings in May too....but that is for another time.
