The first weeks of a new year

So we are into the first weeks of the new year. A bright shiny new year.

In the first days of the year....

 A visit to the Tate Liverpool to see the John Piper Exhibition.

 Well worth a visit, it finishes in March.

 Scouse for lunch in the cafe at the Tate.

The next day we went out to find some thing indoors to do....we ended up at the Rail Story at Ingrow on the KWVR

 A lot of the carriages have been used in TV and films

Then we went to Cliffe Castle, near Keighley.

 The Palm House has recently been renovated and soon to have a new cafe.

 I loved this display of Outdoor wear, it had tiny crystal raindrops hanging down.

It is such a lovely museum, we always find something new there and they have a regular art exhibition that changes every few months.

 I have asked Hubby to give me a craft/art prompt every month and January's is 'Darkness and Light'

 so far I have taken some photos and sketched a title page in my A5 journal

 I made mulled cider Wassail) and drank a toast to our Apple trees on 12th night 

 Then last weekend we popped into Bankfield to see the exhibition 'A hat or a husband'

 when we got outside the sun was just going down.

Looking back over 2017 in my last post I was pleased to see we had made the most of our spare time and looking at this post it seems we are on track to do the same this year!
