those days between

Those days between Christmas and New Year are one of my favourite times. Hubby is home with me, we see friends and family, walk, eat and relax....perfect.

 We had a lovely Christmas day.....

 and a relaxing Christmas day evening....

 Boxing day was glorious and a walk in the Yorkshire Dales....

Then  family round at ours for Boxing day number 2...

Then the next day we walked around Saddleworth,

 from Hull Mill pond to Castleshaw up lark hill then back down to Delph.

This gaslight on Sandbed Lane is still going.....

Then today we went to the cinema in Hebden Bridge, We went last week to see 'A street cat named Bob' and this week to see 'Allied'  both very good films. 

Then a wander around Heptonstall.

 Then home to curl up in front of the fire with my comfy new slippers and a new book....

Christmas Eve

So we have arrived at Christmas Eve and I have still to catch up on the last few months....
Well I am sure I will start the new year as I have all of this year....trying desperately to keep my blog up to date!

Still I am not to concerned, I still get lovely comments to my posts which means there is still some people reading it so I will plod on with it.

 The run up to Christmas was crazy at school with church service, panto, school plays and parties. But at last we arrived at the 16th and we drove home shattered but happy.
It has so far been a wonderful run up to the big day.

I visited the Village Christmas Fair

And I had a few trips to various towns to get into the Christmas spirit.

 We met up with friends for a meal and a catch up....

The cats have been very helpful with the Christmas preparations!

We celebrated Hubby's birthday with a meal at a local restaurant.

And on one day we met up with our lovely friends Diane and her Hubby for a tour around Wentworth Woodhouse followed by a lovely meal at Diane's house ( seems like we are doing lots of eating this holiday!)

 On Monday I took my mum to Manchester for her birthday and we had afternoon tea at Cloud 23 on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Hotel...stunning views!

 then a look around the Christmas markets.

 We have had some fantastic sunrises and sunsets

I made some soft furnishing for a friends little girls dolls house

 I have had two visits to Hebden Bridge both times we ate at our favourite cafe 'The Bitz Cafe'

 the house is as (cat proof) decorated as it can be!

our two old cats Lucy and Tilly are still with us

 and tonight I felt like playing with my paints....
