The half term got off to a flying start when I attended an Anne Brooke Stitched Collage Workshop on Saturday.
My lovely bloggy friend Lynn came along too.
After a talk by Anne about how she starts off her collages we all set too and attacked her supply of papers!
Busy, Busy, Busy
and with coffee, tea and biscuits supplied we were on our way.

and so was Lynn.
I recommend Anne's workshops, we really enjoyed ourselves....and I finished a piece of work!
A whole week!
This is a catch up post, lots of bits and bobs.
Some of these photos are from the end of September but I forgot all about them!
I treated myself to the new Janet Clare book....it is lovely
The garden is looking sorry for itself this week. My poor apple tree is dying, the bark is peeling off.
There is still a little colour to be found.
I picked the last of the rhubarb and tomatoes and although we didn't eat them the cucumbers that I had forgotten about and they had grown into giants!
Our small apple tree is doing quite well and I picked some apples too.
I went on another CPD workshop after work to explore painting techniques. It was fun and gave me some good ideas to use back in school with the children.
And we have had some interesting skies recently too.
Last weekend I went away to a Spa for a friends 40th birthday......Carden Park near Chester.
six of us shared 3 twin rooms which were very comfortable....a BIG double bed each!
We went for a walk around the grounds. There was once a Tudor hall here but it burnt down in 1912 after a party but the gardens and grounds still hold little glimpses of it's past.

Then after our treatments it was back to our rooms for champagne and then a delicious dinner in the restaurant.
The next morning was dull and raining and after breakfast it was time to leave......very relaxed!
I also had a trip out with class 2 to The Sealife Centre in Blackpool.
As you can see it was a very misty day.
Hubby bought me some beautiful flowers.
Driving to and from work I sometimes manage to take a photo or two.
Class 4 have been making Blitz Collages in art for their WWII topic.
And class 3 had a Medieval day and of course I don't need asking twice to dress up for the day!
Do you like my slippers? Fancy being able to wear your slippers at work all day!
I made potage with the children for their Banquet.
And also Mock Mead
It was a great day and the drive home that evening was full of autumn colour.

I finished a friends wedding present....they liked it!
I attended a great workshop today but I will leave that for another post. I'm off to watch Strictly Come Dancing.
