So here is my round up of 2018. As I went through my photographs to make the monthly collages I was able to remember all the lovely things that have happened this year but my first though is it has been quite a sad year and I will be gad to leave it behind. We said goodbye to too many loved ones and good friends. There has been a few illnesses and bad times but like I say there have also been some fantastic times like holidays to amazing places and gatherings of family and friends.....so all in all, Goodbye 2018....

| January 2018 |
The year started with grey dull days, we amused ourselves at the Tate in Liverpool, Castle Cliffe museum, Bankfield and the Railway museum on the KWVR. Then as the blue skies returned there was a walk around Saddleworth, but most of January was spent decorating the lounge and dining room.

| February 2018 |
February and we had snow....in fact we had a snow day and an unexpected day off work! There was half term cocktails and High Tea with friends and a trip to the Lowry Theatre to see Brief Encounter with Hubby. I had my costume ready for world book day (this was postponed until after the snow day!) A walk around Shibden Park, an afternoon at Touchstones art gallery, mum and I went on snowdrop walk around Norton Priory, I went to cookery school and I did some slow stitching.

More snow in March....walks in the snow in Saddleworth, more cookery school, Mothers day at Lyme Park, decorating our bedroom, things started to wake in the garden.

April 2018
So April, my birthday month was busy. Easter with lots of chocolate and baking, a trip to stay in Whitby for the weekend, a walk to Malham cove, a play at Touchstones and a stroll around Nostell Priory and the Manchester Transport museum. I also did a screen printing workshop at Touchstones with my friend and a Hen's Teeth workshop at Shed 76 and a half and we went to see From The Jam at Holmfirth Picturedrome

| May 2018 |
May was lovely and warm. We started to spend more time in the garden. We had a visit to the F1 museum near Donnington, spent May Day at Speke Hall near Liverpool, I went to The Liverpool Empire with my mum to see AN Officer and a Gentleman.

| June 2018 |
June was even more glorious. We enjoyed the garden, planting up the new beds. I went on a workshop after work to learn about natural dyes and textiles. We had a great time getting the school's float ready for the village carnival and I had the girls over for the weekend and we had cocktails and cake! We spent the day with dear friends watching the Tin Man at Wentworth Woodhouse in the sunshine.

| July 2018 |
July and the sunshine continued. The end of term and we managed a few days away in Wiltshire and Dorset, I enjoyed sewing in the garden, we finally finished the lounge and I had a few days out with my mum. We went to the Lowry theatre again, this time to see Love from a stranger.

| August 2018 |
August and we were in the middle of a heatwave. I went away with my mum to Barcelona for four nights and Hubby and I went away for a week to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. We had a wedding in Alnwick and made it into a weekend away, we had the Halifax Agricultural show, always a must to visit every year and we went to the Oulton Park Gold Cup....the heatwave broke that weekend and it rained all weekend!

| September 2018 |
September and we went back to school. We had a family gathering to say Bon Voyage to our niece who was off on her travels to New Zealand. We went to the Piece Hall in Halifax to see the Great Blondin tight rope walk and the Vintage fair at Elland.
We went to the British Waterways museum, a walk around Haworth and Oakworth, I entered my cake into the village Michaelmas Show (a controversial icing lost me points!) and I met up with my lovely friend for a hot chocolate and a catch up.

| October 2018 |
October was a beautiful colourful month. Meeting friends for afternoon tea and cocktails to celebrate birthdays, a visit to the Imperial War Museum and a workshop at Hope and Elvis with Emily Jo Gibbs. Half term and we managed a visit to Shropshire to visit my mother in law. I have to say though that most of the month was taken up with preparing poppies for both my local church and our own school installation at our church.

| November 2018 |
For our wedding anniversary in November we went to see Out on the Floor at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and had a lovely meal afterwards. We went to church on Remembrance Sunday and watched a great folk duo called Harp and a Monkey on the eve of the 100 year centenary of the end of the 1st world war. My chrysanthemums did so well in the greenhouse and mum and I went to see Matilda the musical at the Palace theatre in Manchester. Bonfire night with fireworks but the bonfire is behind a wire fence these days!

| December 2018 |
So we reach December. It has been grey, dull and rainy but we have managed a couple of walks. I went to see the Calendar Girls at the Liverpool Empire with my mum and then we hit Christmas. I made my own wreath, we had an artificial Christmas tree for the first time....and it survived cat attacks! Our school Christmas tree for the village Christmas tree festival won first prize with the theme of peace.
So what will 2019 hold? I do hope it is a good one for one and all.
