A few weeks ago Hubby and I went to the Bridlington 1940's festival. It took just two hours to drive there and park up at the rugby club in time to climb aboard a vintage bus to take us to the Old Town where the festival was being held.
It was a lovely sunny day.
I met Winston Churchill and had my photo taken with him!
There was dancing.......
George Formby singing......
strolling along the lanes.......
| Bridlington was the location for filming of the new Dads Army film a few years ago |
shopping.......
eating and drinking.......
You can't visit Bridlington without taking a stroll along the prom so we drove the mile or so down from the Old Town and parked up for an ice cream.
'The Gansey Girl, a sculpture by Steve Carvill depicts a wife knitting a gansey while waiting for her fisherman to return from sea.
Entertainment was 1930's 40's style with the singer Paul Harper.
Just a quick (photo heavy) catch up! be back soon!
