Bank Holiday Monday

I am back....lets hope the problem has gone for good.
I had not attached anything to my blog but for some reason I was getting a Malware warning so I deleted my last post and got rid of a few things that have been on my sidebar for years and left it over night and this morning it seems ok again.... fingers crossed!
So let me re-do my last post.
On Bank Holiday Morning it was dull and grey.
We decided to go to Ludlow first.

Here is a postcard from Ludlow last year.
We stopped at Ludlow Food Centre first, beautiful food from the Oakly Estate

The market was on in Ludlow.

I can't remember exactly what I said or which photos I put on my deleted post, so sorry if you left comments on it!

Then we went to visit a NGS garden.

The Nest in Moreton.

Lots of pets to show us around the pretty garden.

Then as it was close by and we are members we called in at National Trust Property  Berrington Hall on the way back.

The walled garden is lovely.

So thank you for visiting after my little bit of trouble, lets hope that's the last of it!

Trouble

For those that get through...I am having malware problems on this blog trying to fix it but I am no computer geek...it's going to be a long time!
I have removed my last post entitled bank holiday Monday.

Montgomery

We drove to Shropshire on Saturday.

We stopped at the Fox and Barrel on the way down.

Then on Sunday we met some friends in Montgomery, just across the border in Wales.
The town is a medieval new town founded in the 1220's at the foot of a rocky outcrop where Henry III built a castle in 1223.

It was a glorious sunny day. We had a lovely lunch first at The Dragon.

Built as a stronghold against the Welsh it was finished by 1228

The final chapter in the castle history came during the Civil War when the Royalist castle was fought over and finally demolished by Parliamentarians in 1649.

So a walk back down to the town.

The town below had been granted a royal charter in 1227 and it was then enclosed with a massive wall and ditch.

It has a good History trail with plaques on some of the buildings.

Most of the architecture in the town is from the Georgian period when the town was a prosperous market town.

There is also a lovely small museum at The Old Bell open in the summer months.

Bunner's Ironmongers was established by Robert Bunner in 1891 and is still run by his descendants.
