So sorry I am unable to leave comments on peoples blogs at the moment as I am unable to sign in (this all could be a waste of a post if it wont post!!!)

Thought I would show you some photos of my workroom, I did go on and on about it when we were building the extension so I guess you deserve to see the end result!
It all seems such a long time ago but we got there in the end.

We put the blinds up over the weekend and this was the last thing to be done.

There are still a few bits and bobs still in the loft that need to go in but I am loving it! Can you see the green heart hanging on the cupboard door? that was a lovely surprise gift from Jenny made specially for my new workroom.
These two bunnies were knitted for me by my nan when I was about 20 years old. I had found the pattern in a book and showed it to her and she was an expert knitter and made them in a flash!

On the right is Little Sue made by Sam and two knitted cats from the Cats Protection craft fair.

and the birdie was part of a giveaway I won from The Linen Cat Blog.
a little wire fairy

And here is Patience the bunny who came from the lovely Lisa at Periwinkle.

And the lovely painting above was a giveaway prize from Jane and the Happy Crow.

So I have lots of lovely treasures around and still a few more to go in so if I have missed you I'm sorry (I have been rather lucky in the giveaways and gifts department haven't I?)
Above is a photo of my work in progress last week. Both doggie portraits are now with their owners and you can read more about them and see more photos by clicking on my Emporium Blog in my sidebar or click HERE.
There is also a question on there I would love you to look at and maybe point me in the right direction! Thanks.

Another week closer......

365 Project January 17th
.....to spring!

365 Project January 18th
I will start with my photos for this week's 365 Project.
365 Project January 19th
School has again been inspirational.
365 Project January 20th
People thought these were post-it notes but they are actually 1cm square pieces of paper that my class were using to make paper mosaics on Thursday.
365 Project January 21st
I have also managed to get a few nice shots on the way home with some fantastic skies captured.
365 Project January 22nd
Then on Friday I bought a bunch of yellow tulips and daffodils and on Saturday and Sunday watched as their gladness opened and brought a smile to my face.
365 Project January 23rd
I always wait until January before I buy my first bunch of daffodils as I feel it's wrong to get them before Christmas. Then I buy them every week until they disappear from the shops. They are my favourite flower.
The 365 Project has at least given me something to show you again this week. I am struggling with the Photo Scavenger Hunt though. I think I only have 4 out of the 12 ticked off so far. I have next weekend to run around like a mad thing to get some more!

The sitting room (was the dining room)
We had family round this weekend and enjoyed showing them the new rooms.
The new dining room (was the conservatory and part of the kitchen.)
The joiner comes back in the middle of February to finish off some shelving in my workroom and the new sitting room.

The en suite
We still have loads of stuff in storage so the walls, window sills and shelves are a little bare.
The new hallway
But we are enjoying it after all that mess and noise.

I had lots of comments on my previous post about the cat study. I agree with you, Lucy sleeps for most of the day, I can't believe it's only 6% of her time!

One morning on the way to work I had to stop to photograph the cloud, it lay in the valley below and the hills looked like islands in a white sea.

Now I am using the lack of a workroom as an excuse for not having done anything crafty. I hope to get my Craft Mojo back as soon as possible.

Have a good week everyone!

The end of the year is near

2010
As 2010 comes to a close I have been thinking about the past year.

The last few months have been taken up with the extension.
We cancelled Christmas because of it, the house was not in any state to be decorated.
The rooms will be all finished by the end of January and I look forward to showing you some photos when it's all done.
Although the extension has taken over our lives these past few months, it's not the only thing that has happened this year.
Baking in 2010
I did a bit of baking in 2010.

Lucy's year
Lucy has been photographed hundreds of times this year-as she is every year!
Lucky me!
I have also been very, very lucky and I have been sent some beautiful gifts from my bloggy friends over the year (forgive me if your gift is not pictured, I have hundreds of photos to go through and it took AGES to find these!)
While I was going through my photos I realised I had not done too bad on the craft side this year.

I have done more Arts and Crafts than I thought!

Westminster Abbey, London
We had some lovely days out, a holiday in Shropshire and a couple of days in London too.
Shropshire Hills

Liverpool

Downton Hall Gardens

Spitfire in Haworth
We have said goodbye to some dear friends and pets this year, there have been a few ups and downs but thankfully we have had more smiles than sadness

So this is the end of 2010, I look forward to the fresh new start that the new year brings and all that remains for me to say now is
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

Bah Humbug......ground to a halt.....

.....the building work that is.
The workroom has a floor and a chandelier. The rest is going very.......very.......slowly.
It won't be finished before Christmas so I have cancelled Christmas for this year!
Some decorating has been done upstairs and outside but the floors, radiators, sockets and heating is still unfinished. Every trade seems to be waiting for an other and they are waiting for an other!!!
Sorry, moan over!
Sunrise on Wednesday
There has been some wonderful sunrises and sunsets recently though.

Sunset on Thursday

I was feeling a little left out yesterday. The whole of the country had a blanket of snow, and there was not a flake to be seen in West Yorkshire!

but it arrived during the night.
maybe I won't cancel Christmas after all....... just do a more modest Christmas this year.......the snow has had a magical effect!

set backs

So sorry I have not been around, Thank you to all those who have asked where I am! I am still here, trying to read other peoples blogs when I can but it is so busy round here, I don't know where I am half the time!

My workroom won't be ready before Christmas now. Most of it will be done but the joiner can't get the shelving done till some time in January. The new study/library room will also be shelf-less as he is making those too! Oh well.

other things are on schedule. The conservatory went and we now have a lovely room in it's place which will be our new dining room. The two spare rooms are ready for decorating and the en suite is almost ready. The kitchen is also nearly there.

Using fabric paints and crayons
I started a Craft Club after school for the year 3 children this week. 22 children (most of the class!) wanted to join and we had to split them into two groups one per half term. We are decorating plain white aprons, with the idea we use the aprons when making messy stuff at the craft club. It went well and they seemed to enjoy it. The school secretary (who use to be a TA) is helping me at the club as I think 11 on my own would be a bit too much at the end of a long Monday! New post on the school log blog here, about the Crafty Club.

Misty Mornings
It has been a grey old day here and there has been little opportunity to photograph anything nice either on the way to or coming home from work.

I did manage a few at the weekend-some while Hubby was driving and he refused to stop so they are a bit blurred-men!
We had a lovely time at my brother's surprise party last night (I made his book and everyone signed it on the night) It was so nice to catch up with family who we have not seen for years and years.

This weekend we are trying to clean upstairs a bit but I am finding it hard to move away from the sofa in front of the fire!!!
and Lucy can't move off the bed!
