2014

So 2014 is drawing to a close.
It has been a bit up and down this year. Mainly up thankfully.

Not as much snow last January as the year before but I was a bit creative and we had lots of walks.

February and we had a fantastic holiday in the UAE, I dressed as a viking and had a workshop with my lovely friend Diane at Hope and Elvis

 In March we took my mum to The Midland in Morecambe for a super Mothers Day Lunch, more walks and I dressed up as Mary Poppins!

 April saw us at a friends 25th wedding anniversary party, I ate lots of chocolate and cake ( well it was my birthday!) more walks and a workshop with my lovely friend Shan.

 May was a lovely warm month and we enjoyed a holiday in North Wales where we met up with some old friends, local walks and days out too.

 June and Olly had his belated birthday present....a walk with barn owls, we also had some great days out in the fine weather. I indulged in a spa weekend with some friends and worked in my sketchbook (one of the few new years resolutions I kept from last year!)

 July was a very exciting month when the Tour de France arrived in our village, we saw giants in Liverpool and watched the air show at Duxford.

 August was a time for family and we attended a wedding and I took my mum and mother in law to Liverpool. We had some days out at National Trust properties and soaked up the sunshine.

 Friends joined us in September to watch the local Rushbearing, I had trips out with school and made 1914 parkin for the local show and we visited some Historic buildings not usually open to the public.

 October was such a sad month when we finally said goodbye to our beautiful Lucy Boo who passed away after 18 wonderful years with us. 
More walks and more creativeness was also happening.

 Our 18th Wedding anniversary and lots of work on the Remembrance day service at school but we squeezed in some walks in the mild autumn days.

And we come to December. More walks, a visit to Shropshire to see my mother in law and play in the snow. We remembered Lucy, I dressed as a suffragette at school, I made an angel and went to see Edward Scissorhands with my friend and God daughters.

A busy year but sorry I have not been around as much as usual. I will work on that one I promise. But for now all that is left to say is Happy New Year to you all and I must post this I found on Pink Milk Blog. Thank you Heather!

Running out of time!

I am determined NOT to start the New Year still talking about this year.

As it is Christmas Eve I had better pop on something festive, to try and get into the festive spirit......

........Had a wonderful time with my lovely friend and her girls when we went to see Edward Scissorhands at The Lowry, Salford Quays......

 ....Enjoyed the Panto with school....

 ....Baked snowflake biscuits.....

 .......Wrapped the Reception children's self portraits as presents for their parents.....

 .....Made calendars and Christmas cards........

 Helped with the production of the KS2 Christmas play, Christmas 1914, moved the audience to tears!)

 ....received many lovely cards......

 ......Decorated the house.......

 .....Went to the village Christmas Market (shame it rained so much!).....

 .....Done a bit of late night shopping in Halifax.....

I had a school Christmas Lunch (very nice it was too!)

 ....Went on the Staff Christmas 'do'.....

 Lucy is with us this Christmas, missing her so much.

.....I made an angel for the tree (more about that in another post) which leaves only one more thing to say........
