phew it's hot!

What a scorcher!

The summer has arrived here in the UK.

The moors have have a layer of white on them at the moment.

The best bits are hard to photograph as it is not a safe place to stop my car on the way home but I did manage a few photos from a lay-by the other afternoon.

Cotton grass is a key species on the Pennines and swathes of it creep across the moors.

Last Friday I joined Year six on a special end of term trip.
They had decided on Drayton Manor.

Then on Saturday it was the School Summer Fair and then I went out in the evening on a friends Hen Night.

Where lots of silly things went on involving fake mustaches!

On Sunday we spent some time in the garden and had a spot of lunch out.

Then we managed tea out side in the garden too.

and on Monday it was Famous Person Day in Class 3.
Can you guess which famous person I was dressed up as?
The clue was the Peter Rabbit in my basket.
I of course decided to wear tights, boots and a long skirt (The jacket came off for most of the day) on one of the hottest days of the year.......!

The children had a great time. They each invited a member of their family for the day to help them make a costume of the famous person they had researched then we had a fashion parade through the ages in front of the rest of the school. We had a lovely day.

Today was sports day.
And I am shattered.......must go and water my hanging basket and my tomatoes!
