It's been a busy few days. Today we went to order the new kitchen and there was changes in the garden.

 Yesterday I went to Halifax.

Borough Market, Halifax

I wandered around the Borough Market.

Built in July 1896

Market Hall Clock

The inside has an octagonal done and

an ornamental clock

You can buy almost anything in the market. But I didn't need to buy any fruit or vegetables this time.

Piece Hall, Halifax

Then I walked around the Piece Hall.

It was opened on January 1st 1779.

And was built to allow hand loom weavers to sell their pieces of cloth, hence the name.

The art gallery in the Piece Hall had a lovely exhibition of textile art showing. One artist was Janet Browne. Pop over to her web site to see her lovely work.


I am looking at some of my photos to enter into the Village Michealmas Show. Remember last year? and then I found out about this.

Last piece of randomness. These were the goodies I brought back from London.

A KS day in Preston

Yesterday I spent the day in Preston with my KS, Shan. There was a packed itinerary so almost as soon as I was at her house we were out of the door.

Coats on, handmade poppies ready?

check.

Shan had needle felted her own and mine was made by Colette at Poppy Cottage. (money will still be put into the British Legion collecting tins.)

Right into town and hit the shops. Such excellent bargains to be had. we go to the market where one of Shan's favourite stalls is having a closing down sale. The bargains there!

Feeling hungry?

check.

We went to Oliver's. An Italian cafe bar with excellent food and bargain prices. More bargains!

Then through the car boot/flea market and onto Aberkan's.

If you are into fabrics and crafting it's a great place to explore. Shan had to buy some things for her sewing projects and well I had to buy more yarn for my Christmas throw plus a 'few' other bits and pieces!

Then back to Shan's for a coffee and a tutorial on jewellery making! yes Shan gave me a lesson on making a bracelet using seed beads and buttons and wire. She's a good teacher look-

Maybe I could make some for my blogshop?
