We had the leavers service on Tuesday....and yes I cried!
The headmaster wrote a lovely letter to the parents the week before and at the end he put this quote-
'How lucky I am to have something so special, that makes saying goodbye so hard'
We had a lovely service and the year six children held it together until near the very end when they sang True Colours and there was not a dry eye in the church! The headmaster then gave a great speech and ended with a Doctor Seuss quote-
'Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened'

only two days left!

Yes two days in school then the children break up and we have one day in school with out the little darlings and then......I am off work until September 1st! YIPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

It has been another crazy week at school. Our headmaster is leaving to go to another school in September and I have been in charge of a secret book complied by the children. This was bound today and will be given to him at the Year Six Leavers Service next Tuesday. I ALWAYS cry at the leavers service and I must remember to take my hankie this year as it will be twice as bad.

I am trying to do three things at once here....
write this post.....
download some music onto a memory stick....
and do a painting of our school as a present for the headmaster!

I am off to see Harry Potter next Thursday with a friend and her daughter. I have seen ALL the HP films with her and it has become a bit of a ritual.

I am also a tad excited as this time next week Hubby and I will be in Dover waiting for our trip to France on the ferry on the 23rd!

We are off to Normandy and Brittany for TWO WHOLE weeks! My lovely mother in law will be at our house cat sitting (and tomato plant and house sitting...but most importantly cat sitting!)
So I will post my 365 photos at some point in the next few days no doubt when I should be packing. I have loads to do and my head is just a bit mushy at the moment, so forgive me!

We did it!

In just under 1 hour we walked (quite quickly!) the 5 km Race For Life.
The sun was shining when I left home and I thought it was going to be a glorious day then the clouds rolled in and the heavens opened and we got soaked before the start of the race.

1200 Ladies took part this afternoon, a bit of rain didn't dampen the spirits.

We would of got to the finish line a bit earlier if we hadn't stopped to talk to the donkeys!

But we did it and Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me or someone else in Race For Life. It was a brilliant day with a wonderful atmosphere, very humbling when you see cancer suffers also walking the race or when you read the back messages people had put on their tee shirts.
I have so far raised £92...thank you!

Edited....I was at £92....I had put a target of £100 on my page and guess what....another lovely blogger just popped over and made it a dream come true.....Thank You ALL so much.

Its been a long, long week!

But I made it through to Friday!

It has been very busy at school with trips out and the Summer fair.

The school Craft Club made some cinder toffee, peppermint creams and chocolate cake for their stall. We had a very messy evening getting them ready. They made some lovely labels for the goodies and then helped me sell them on the stall.

Last Saturday we went to RAF Waddington Air Show.

The Red Arrows

The Americans have their own version of the Red Arrows called The Thunderbirds. They were very Top Gun!

The looked very smart and put on a good show.

Vulcan

Hubby was especially pleased to see the Vulcan fly.

It was a lovely day and we both got a bit red looking up at that sky for most of the day despite putting on loads of suncream!

As we were walking back to the cars we saw these glamorous American ladies being chatted up by the British pilots.
