Second week of lockdown (and a bit of the third!)

And so my second week of 'lockdown' consisted of going to work, gardening, sewing, listening to music, watching TV, clearing out drawers, local walking, washing and ironing and reading.

We painted a large banner at school in rainbow colours.

 We made rainbows for the windows and some Easter crafts.

 I made my own rainbow for my workroom window at home.

We have been so glad we have a milkman to deliver milk, eggs and cream....one less thing to worry about at the moment.

 The cats are getting use to us being around all day.....

We managed a bit in the garden....

I did some drawing exercises to try and get me back into the drawing and painting.

The babies had a birthday this week...they are 5 years old!

I finished Luna's dress.

 I made a chocolate chip cake in week 2...

I started to make notes...a sort of diary but not a diary if that makes sense? just to record what is going on in these unprecedented times. 

This week I baked a deep apple pie and some lemon curd tarts...to walk it off...

 One of our local walks was up through Millbank and back through Fiddle wood...

Then another was up around the lanes in Rishworth...

And another was up to Making Place and Soyland...

and last nights was up towards Barkisland, mainly farmland above Ripponden. We encountered more people on this walk than any other walk we have done. We kept to the roads on this walk and passed about five couples or small family groups taking their own permitted walk.

All of our walks have been right on our doorstep. We are so lucky to be able to walk out of the door in so many directions and have such beautiful places to go. Apart from the very last walk around the lanes near Barkisland we met only one or two people if any at all. We always cross over the road when passing people and most have a 'hello' or 'evening' for you. There have been people moaning on local WhatsApp groups saying people should stay close to home and don't come to our village and all public footpaths should be closed but I think this is just fear talking. If footpaths were closed that would force more people onto the lanes and I can't believe people are expected to just walk up and down their own road for exercise, not helpful in a busy town. (moan over!)

 I called into school yesterday to do some paperwork...

 The school is open over the Easter holiday for a small amount of children but I am not in until next week....it seemed so quiet.

 Teddy in the window has a new rainbow waistcoat..

and so we come to the end of this long post. And I thought I wouldn't have anything to talk about while were were on lockdown!
