December and a little Christmas cheer.

So I never did get around to posting about December when it was actually December! Never mind. I did spend lots of time making my round up collages for 2022, I will do a separate post for that later. 

But Back To December we go...

It started with the village Christmas Fair.

And a trip to The Piece Hall to see the Black Cat Cabaret in the Spiegeltent.

And time for the boxes to come down from the loft.

It was done in stages over a few days but we eventually got them up!

Of course we watched It's a Wonderful Life to get us in the mood! For the past few years Hubby has bought a second hand Christmas Jumper and I have embellished it. At this year's Village Christmas Fair he bought this snowman jumper.

One crisp cold day I went up to Soyland for a walk

I watched these two deer enjoying the winter sun.

We did have a lovely cold couple of weeks with the trees and fields frosted over, but it was back to milder weather with rain for Christmas.

There was a trip to the Christmas market in Liverpool with my mum.

It was bitterly cold that day and we didn't stay long.

And then after 3 years we got to see The Lion King. 

Bought as birthday presents for my God Daughters 18th and 21st I took them and their mum as a treat...Well worth the wait.

The last week of term at school was very busy...

I still managed a few walks on my way home.

Our staff Christmas Do.

Then we had finished for the holiday and I had a week to get myself sorted. Like many I had not sent cards and we toned down the Christmas presents this year. We wanted to feel the joy this year and not about the material things that get tagged on to Christmas.

A trip to Hebden Bridge to get a few special presents from the independent shops.

Then a walk (I bought some local hand crafted little gifts from the Crafts Cooperative in Delph.

We called in at the Swan in Dobcross (I got quite tiddly on one large glass of red wine...the rest of the walk was hilarious apparently!!)

This was the 23rd December. A lovely meal in Hebden Bridge with friends before watching The Bishop's Wife at the Picturehouse.

I popped in with presents for my family on the same day.

Boxing Day was spent at my brothers with the family....and Frankie!

Misty obviously didn't read the cushion!

The day after Boxing Day Hubby and I went to The Pines for a few days (Blog post here) We needed to blow away the cobwebs.

New Year was quiet. Just the two of us with the cats.
