So I need to catch up on December.....
Most of it spent in the run up to Christmas....
A Christmas tree festival at Halifax Minster...
Then a stroll around The Piece Hall and Halifax
This was the sunrise on the drive to work one morning.
And at school preparations were underway for the Christmas concerts...
And the Christmas tree festival up at church...
There was time after work for a catch up with my best friend at our favourite cafe in Uppermill...

Then it was time to put our own Christmas decorations up...
And we had some friends round for hot chocolate and mulled wine with mince pies to kick the season off,,,,
Our work's Christmas Do was at a lovely Indian restaurant in Rochdale called Bombay Brew...

And the annual whole school trip to the Pantomime!
The last day at school finally arrived and after the Church service we could all go home and ready ourselves for the Big Day.
This involved a trip with my mum to see the Christmas Lights at the Albert Dock in Liverpool...
With a cheeky fish and chips supper!

Then Christmas day arrived.....the tradition of opening our stockings in bed first.....
I made these fabric stockings before we were married and we buy each other silly little gifts to go inside each year....
My nephew bought this play box for the cats....they loved it!
We received some lovely thoughtful gifts,,,
Then it was time to set the table as we had my father-in-law coming for lunch.
Boxing day and we went to my brothers house for a lovely buffet lunch. We did a Christmas quiz ad played a board game, it was a lovely relaxing family occasion....even my mum's dog Frankie enjoyed herself!
At home the turkey butties made an appearance!

December of course didn't end there. We had lots of walks in the days between Christmas and going back to work in the New Year. I aim to post about those walks before next weekend. I have done lots of posts recently to catch up on my blog and it has been fun looking back on our adventures, it has made me feel very grateful we are able to get out and about and do such lovely things with lovely people and this is so much more than some people have.
