A long post about May

So a few things from May.
We met up with lots of old friends in a beer garden in Derbyshire. It was so lovely catching up with friends and finding out what they have been up to in the past few years.

on an other evening we had a meal out after our local election voting....(it has become a bit of a ritual!)

We drove down to Donnington Park for the Historic Cup
I took my book to read while we sat on the rug watching the classic racing cars.

 A Dakota Fly past

It was a very hot day.....

We also had a visit to the Tudor market and May Day celebrations at Speke Hall

We left the hustle and bustle on the front lawn and wandered through the gardens.

 and into the bluebell wood

.....did we see a ghost?

To get in the shade we decided to look around the inside of the hall
 decorated for May Day.

The famous Child of Hale

When I arrived home after a lovely day I was feeling very shaky and cold despite the heat
I had a fever for a couple of days and was not myself.
A trip to the bank in Rochdale one evening after work and I noticed they have put poppies on the lamp posts all around town ready for at armistice day commemoration in November.
and of course it was SATS week in school....

We have been blessed with such lovely weather this late spring and one evening Hubby and I went for an evening stroll locally.

we started along the busy A58

My Mum and I went to see An Officer and a Gentleman, the musical at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool.

 it was really very good....
and a meal afterwards at Pesto

Mum's dog, Frankie

And then back down to Derbyshire to the F1 motor racing museum....first a meal in a lovely pub in a nearby village called Wilson.

 then on to the museum.....

This visit was actually a belated Christmas present for Hubby!

While I have been off school for half term I have tidied my work room....the above is a photo of it before.....I finished it in June!!! only took 2 and a half days!!!
I indulged in a little TV

and I flicked through magazines....I need a potting table just like this one!
Tidy!

We have had some sad news during May too and I found it comforting to sit and just remember a very dear friend who sadly passed away.

I looked back through this post and wondered if I should split it into smaller posts....but I know I will never get around to it and quite enjoyed doing a whole month in one post. I do my blog for myself and if others get enjoyment out of it also that is a big bonus! So here's to June!
