December (a long post which includes Christmas!)

As usual I am playing catch up. I did manage to do my 2018 review post and get it published on New Years Eve which is positive.

 December started with a trip to the theatre with my mum to see Calendar Girls with a walk around Liverpool afterwards.

We finally got a rug for the lounge....now we can say it is complete!

I made my own wreath this year.

 On a very wet Saturday Hubby and I went Christmas shopping in Haworth

 We bought a new tree.....the cats have never seen a Christmas tree ( we have had a twig tree the past three years) we couldn't risk a real tree so an artificial one it was!

I picked the last of my chrysanthemums and brought them indoors.

 I went to Halifax Minster to see their Christmas Tree Festival and watch a beautiful light show projected on the ceiling.

 that gave the inspiration to go home and decorate our own tree.

Tilly was popped on....

so was lovely Lucy Boo

 Halifax Market was full of lanterns.

 Then we were ready...this year we went plastic free on our wrapping and I made presents too!

 Went to the panto with school....

and had our school Christmas dinner!

 ....we had friends around for mince pies and mulled wine.

We went to The Moorcock Inn at Norland Moor to celebrate Hubby's birthday. 

Then at last we finished school and we had a little Christmas party!

Christmas Eve was bright and sunny so we went for a walk.

 back home we were looking forward to opening our presents the next day so we settled on the sofa with a little drink and watched some TV

 We had a quiet Christmas day...

 Then my family arrived for Boxing Day and we carried on the tradition my Nan started many years ago ( see Christmas Past Post)....a gift under the tree for everyone....usually a funny one!

 That evening it was turkey sandwich time!

 The next day we went for a walk to blow the cobwebs away and work off some calories....one of our favourite walks near Settle.

 We could only find one cafe open when we got back to Settle...

The next day we drove down to Shropshire to visit my mother in law.

 we played pass the pig with our 8 year old nephew and walked up Carding Mill Valley

 and today....the last day of 2018....

A stroll around Southport, a walk along Formby Sands and we popped in to see my mum before coming home and popping some champagne to see in the new year.

we found a dragon!

I do hope it will be a good one.
