Jubilee Celebrations

 A quick round up of the now distant Jubilee celebrations.

We were planning a Street Party for the 5th June but preparations and planning started way back in January.

A group of us got together to form a committee.

Posters and flyers were made.

Labels were made...

I made two union flag cushions...

I also decorated the outside of the house the week before the celebrations

The table cloths were pressed, the china was washed and the sweet potato rolls were made...

The day before we put up the bunting along the road.

We had enjoyed days of lovely sunny weather and of course the day of the party dawned...

It was windy, grey and rain was forecast!

We didn't let it stop us though.

We did get wet! we sat in coats with umbrellas, tried to save the food from getting wet by putting it in the open boot of a neighbours car and we ignored the rain!

We sang, we laughed and we toasted Her Majesty the Queen and had a wonderful day.

June been and gone

 June has been and gone.

At the beginning of the four day Jubilee Weekend we went for a trip to North Yorkshire.

We started in Settle.

We then parked at Stainforth and took a familiar walk up to Catrigg Force.

A walk full of meadows and rolling hills.

On another day we had a local walk at Hull Mill Pond, Delph.

I lost my walking mojo in June. I did do some local walks but I have been so so busy at school and not had the energy to get out there.

It is the time of year when there are lots of school trips, we had a lovely day at Lytham St Anne's with class one.

The garden has also kept me busy, it always looks it's best in May and June.

The Platinum Jubilee was celebrated on our drive.
