Grateful no.7 and no.8

Today, on this grey November day I am grateful we still get days like yesterday where the sun is strong enough to make shadows on the wall.

And I am also grateful to still have roses blooming in the garden.

I have just been to the post office and posted my parcels to my Pay It Forward recipients so with luck and a fair wind they will arrive by early next week. I also posted my Christmas Stocking Swap to Dolly. (Yes and it's only 14th November!!!) Feeling very pleased with myself. I hope they like what I put together!!!!!!!
I finished my little secret project but you will have to wait a while before I let you know what I have been up to.
I hope to tidy up the house a bit tomorrow and then I may be able to carry on with my Autumn/Christmas Throw I started ages ago, remember?
Have a good weekend everybody
:o)

Happy Halloween?

Living where we do we don't get many trick or treaters, I did have some treats on stand by but as it's nearly 9pm I guess I will just have to eat them myself!

I have had a fantastic few days.

Sunrise on Thursday morning

I managed to spend two whole days crafting and got together my PIF's so they are almost ready to send off!

as you can see there seems to be a lot of Christmas looking things going on.....

....I can't show you to much, it will spoil the surprise!

Lucy came to check out what I was doing.

Sunrise on Friday morning

I also popped over to see my mum and we went to her allotment and I brought home lots of lovely kale and a cabbage!

Remember this post? well I had a phone call out of the blue and was asked if I could call in the Parish Council office to pick up this.....

Good start to the weekend

Today was the village Michaelmas Show. It is only a small affair, there seemed to be less home grown produce this year, and I didn't enter any either. I did enter the photography section and the Painting or sketch section. Everyone had an eye on a 1st Rosette or even one of these-

I dropped off my entries at 11am went home and pottered around for a few hours. Then went back for the prize giving at 3pm. I found my photographs first.

I had been awarded a third rosette and certificate! They had not got round to placing the certificates and rosettes in the Arts and Crafts section so I wandered around to look at the other exhibits.

When I went back I found...

I had won 1st prize for the painting of Bob and 2nd prize for the painting of Lucy! I also won over all best in Arts and Crafts!!! I am so chuffed! I am quite competitive-Ask Shan, and I came away with a big grin on my face. Only trouble is I will have to do it all again next year-maybe I will enter something in the 'Knitted item' category or a jar of my home made jam or the 'Embroidery' section.....

Now I would like to show you my WIP. The squares are coming along and as I lay them out on the floor to have a look I realise the Autumn colours actually start to look more 'Christmasy' so it may become my snuggle up at Christmas throw.

Also I am going to make another plea for people to join my 'Pay It Forward'. I mentioned it in this post and have had not one single person join. I only need three!

Have a think and let me know if you are interested.

It was such a beautiful day I walked around the village after the show.

This is where the show was held.

and this is St Bartholomews Church.
Wasn't it a lovely day? Hope you all had a good start to the weekend. Now Hubby is away on a 'Lads Weekend' so the chick flick, chocolate and red wine are calling........

Aberystwyth and JOIN IN!

Visit to Aberystwyth

When we were in Wales we went to Aberystwyth It's a buzzing place because of the University but also because it is full of very British Seaside things to do and see. There is a pier, arcades, beaches, a castle ruins, lots of shops, a cliff railway and lots of seagulls!

I have signed up to Michela's Pay it Forward.

SO I think I have this right!

The first 3 people to sign up to my Pay it Forward will receive some hand made goodies from me and then they need to each post about the PIF and make some handmade goodies for the first 3 people who sign up to their PIF. Leave a comment if you want to join in! the good news is you have 365 days to send your goodies!

This time last year I was in Venice on holiday with my mum. Such a beautiful place.
