Postcard from the Golfe du Morbihan

Day five
Friday 2nd August

All aboard!
On Day Five we had booked a boat trip.
We drove to Vannes and boarded the boat at the Quay.

For over an hour the boat sailed around the Golfe du Morbihan.

A large bay where they say when the tide is low there is an island for every day of the year!

The above island is Ile Gavrinis which has a large prehistoric dolmen.

I think these boats were being pulled along....maybe they were having sailing lessons?

The Atlantic ocean is out there!

Then we disembarked at Ile-aux-Moines (Monk's island)

 We hired some bikes to explore the island a little.

 We sat down to eat just before the heavens opened!

 It was only a short shower and the sun was soon back out.

Then we caught our return boat back to Vannes.
