Here is my review of 2017. I do one every year.....and every year I add more and more collages! I am no longer satisfied with one for each month! (although in my defence some where already made for blog posts at the time!)
So we start with January.
January started with a bracing walk on the Wirral on the 1st then during the month some walks locally. A catch up with a friend and with our fur babies stating to grow up we decided to put back some of our precious items around the house (removed when they were kittens for fear of them being broken) Our house was looking a little more loved.
February
February and we saw life in the garden. More walks and afternoon tea with friends in Rochdale Town Hall, we had a lovely Valentines day meal at home and I went to see Funny Girl in Manchester with friends.
March
March and it started off well. Walking, gardening, sewing, we visited the Imperial War Museum North to see the Fashion on a Ration Exhibition. We were getting excited as at the end of the month we were jetting off to see my best friend Shan on Montserrat in the West Indies but two weeks before we were due to fly we had the dreadful news she had passed away suddenly. We were heartbroken. Our holiday (already booked and paid for) changed and we decided to go to Antigua and then pop over to visit her family and see the island she loved so much.

So April was a month with tears but also joy, much sadness but also lots of laughter.
When we got back from our holiday we had Easter, plenty of walking, visiting Haworth and Cliffe Castle Museum. One of our favourite walks was one to Top Withens (Inspiration for Wuthering Heights)
May
May and we went to Haworth 1940's weekend, I had a trip to Liverpool with my mum, there was also a visit to East Riddleston Hall, Shibden Hall and Shropshire to visit my mother in law. I did a workshop at Touchstones to make a clay cat and we watched 'Their Finest; at the cinema. The garden, although resembling a building site, was blossoming.
June
June and we went to Bridlington 1940's day, had a vintage afternoon tea at the Midland hotel in Morecambe, visited Haworth during their 1960's weekend and I did a beading workshop at Touchstones in Rochdale. We attended a Vintage car show at Brodsworth Hall and My school won best float at the Milnrow and Newhey Carnival with our Alice in Wonderland inspired float....we also had sports day and my pelargoniums in the green house were looking great (this makes me sad considering my previous post!)
July
July saw the end of term and our school summer fair. Our fur babies are growing fast and enjoying the sunshine, we visited Windrush 69 in Preston, organised by Shan's brother. We spent a lovely day peeking in the Open Gardens of Hebden Bridge and I attended a Gelli Printing workshop at Touchstones. Then my work colleagues and I celebrated reaching the end of term with a meal and cocktails in Manchester!
August
August and I had two holidays in Wales! First with Hubby to Harlech and then to Aberaeron with my mum. August we also went to see Heaven 17 in Holmfirth, I met a friend in Todmorden for lunch and a natter, afternoon tea with friends then another in New Brighton with my mum (I've had lots of Afternoon teas this year!) walks at the Yorkshire Sculpture park and in the Dales and attended the opening of the newly restored Piece Hall in Halifax. At the end of the month it was the Oulten Park Gold Cup.....phew!
September
September saw the end of our Garden make over phase two. Not really the end as we have to plant up the beds but all the ground work was finished and lawn laid.We went for a meal to say goodbye to a work colleague who was due to be married and start a new life. We visited Elland Vintage festival, Liverpool and some lovely old buildings for Heritage Open Weekend. I attended a Gin Festival in Saltaire with two old friends who stayed the weekend and we had a much needed girly catch up. We also attended a spectacular show at the Piece Hall.

September saw us visit Stockport Vintage festival, Liverpool Tate (Twice), Bankfield and Halifax Minster. We finally visited Pickering 1940's weekend after promising ourselves a visit for ages and we went to a friends wedding which was such a special day. We also had a lovely meal at Grand Pacific in Manchester to celebrate out 21st wedding anniversary early, I started the first of a course of cookery lessons at Saddleworth School of Cookery, I played with print and collage in my workroom and yet another afternoon tea for a friends birthday!
November
November we celebrated 21 years of marriage! My rose had a final bloom, we celebrated a friends 60th birthday with a meal and cocktails in Manchester, a catch up with my friend in Uppermill and Hubby and I went to see Kid Creole and ABC at the Bridgewater Hall. We finally walked up Pendle Hill....it was on my to do list! Fireworks at our local pub, local walks and stunning sunrises and sunsets, RAC vintage Car Rally came to our area and I was in Halifax for Remembrance Day.
December
December and we celebrated Christmas. We visited the Village Christmas Fair, yet another afternoon tea (a festive picnic bench this time!) a friends 50th birthday, Hubby won best Christmas Jumper (with a little help from me!) Christmas markets in Liverpool with my mum, a very posh works Christmas Do at the Midland Hotel in Manchester and two fantastic walks to work off the turkey....one in the dales and one locally in the snow!
