September

 One month - 1/2  post

So September came all too quickly and before I knew it I was back at school after a lovely six week break.

Baking Dorset Apple Cake to use up some of the apples picked from our old apple tree.

I had an impostor in my hanging basket, a seed brought by a bird perhaps?

(My windows need cleaning!!)

I volunteered at Briarcourt for Heritage Open Weekend.

With a tour of Clem's Garden afterwards.

Briarcourt

I was mostly standing at the entrance to the drive to direct traffic to the area to park. The following week the owners did a special 'open day' just for the volunteers. Briarcourt is an Arts and Crafts house in Lindley, Huddersfield and was designed by Middleton Architect, Edgar Wood and has a fascinating history.

We went up towards the Lakes to visit a motor museum.

As the weather was kind in September, there was plenty of walking.

I stopped on the way to work to photograph these cows as the air was cold so there was lots of condensation coming from them and the ground. My iPhone didn't do it justice.

We were sad to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, I wrote in the book of condolence in St Bartholomew's.

We also went to a local show at Elland. It is always well organised and well attended.

And it was time to cut the broken branch off the old apple tree.

I have decided to do September part 2 on another post....I didn't realise we had done so much in the month!
