Where did the week go?

I can't believe it is almost the end of the week and I am back to work on Monday, where did my half term go?
It's been busy but I don't have anything to show for it.

This parcel arrived on Wednesday and I had to wait until this morning to open it and I could take a photo of it for you.

It was a 200th Post giveaway over on Sandies Patch.
Oh I am such a lucky girl, I love everything.

The extension has been my main 'thing' going on this week. I had to make a mad dash to B&Q for a kitchen cupboard today!

We found this scrap of wallpaper hidden by a shelf many years ago.

The design is so contemporary don't you think?
Lucy has had a few calmer days, you will be glad to hear.

But it's dirty work and she needed a good wash today!

Inspiration and reflections

I went to the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair yesterday. It was held in two pavilions in Spinningfields in Manchester City centre.

I never take photos of craft fairs as I don't think it fair on the crafts people. but I did make a note of some of the wonderful designers and crafts people and will post a link here to their website. It was a great fair with lots of lovely things.

We have so much talent in this country and I hope they all made some good contacts and even sold some of their products and that they continue to create and inspire.


Reflections

It was so lovely catching up with my friend too. We went to college together years ago and she is still doing children's fashion design. She hadn't changed and we didn't stop talking all day. We dreamed about a group of friends getting together and opening up a little shop and selling handmade goodies and running workshops.

 It was a lovely sunny day yesterday.

It has been another beautiful day outside today.

 The sun was out and the sky was blue......

but it was so cold. I did take some photos of the frost on the leaves and flowers in the garden.

I had intended to tidy up in the garden a little but it was so cold and Lucy was so stressed as she wanted to go in the house but was scared of the 3 builders, 2 electricians, 2 plasterers and the plumber!

In the end I managed to smuggle her into the lounge and we camped out there with the fire on and watched daytime TV. It's still a bit noisy but she seems alright as long as I am in there with her.

 

Poor baby, she stayed in the airing cupboard for most of the day yesterday. I think I will call at the vets tomorrow and get a feliway diffuser to see if it makes her feel better.

I am out for part of the day tomorrow and I'm calling in at John Lewis then on Wednesday I'm having a day with Shan. We plan to relax and take it easy. I think I have had my fair share of inspiration for this week.

It has been a very busy week and I have spent this evening trying to catch up with reading your lovely blogs.

I have to say "Hello" to all my new followers as I have noticed recently had a few more added, I know the amount of followers you have doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but I always find it a surprise someone wants to be updated when I have posted a new post, I take it as a compliment so thank you!

The headmaster at our school brought some beautiful banners back from a meeting of headteachers the other day.

They had been made by local head teachers on a workshop and looked stunning. They were collages of various materials and the theme was 'Fellowship'

You know I can't post without a mention about the extension......

The scaffolding has come down and the render is on.

The new hall and old front door

 But we have to go to Plan B for the front door. I have fought hubby, builder boss and joiner to keep the original 1930's front door. It was moved into it's new position and I thought I had won the battle.
But it seems it is rotting and is about to fall to pieces. They have promised me a new hardwood front door that looks exactly like it except the 'stained glass' won't actually be stained glass but pretend stained glass, know one will notice.......except me!

Lucy has had a stressful week with lots of noise. I am off school next week so we can camp in the lounge and watch daytime TV together.
I am off to the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair tomorrow and meeting a friend there. We haven't seen each other for 14 years so we have a lot of catching up to do. I wish I had some cash to get some unusual Christmas gifts but the house gets EVERY penny at the moment so we might have to cancel Christmas!

Hello, the weeks are just speeding by and I only have this week in school before half term!

It has been a busy week here, the extension is looking good on the outside......

.....but the inside is a bit of a mess!

Holes in all the walls upstairs and you can see into the downstairs rooms through the floors!

it will all be done for Christmas!

We also managed a walk in the woods at the weekend.

On the way home from work on Friday I just had to stop and take some photos of the woods and trees...
