The rest of April was busy as usual. Easter at the start, lots of lovely sunshine for Easter.I have kept up with my local walking, sometimes driving to the next village or the moorland to have a change of scene.I met a friend for a walk around Hollingworth Lake and Hare hill Park.The following walk is around Soyland on the hills above our village.It was warm enough to have lunch in the garden too.A work colleague recently lost her husband and she asked me to make some cats using some of his clothing as keepsakes for the grand children. I had never heard of this but I believe it is a popular thing to do apparently. (he liked his cats that's why she chose cats. I couldn't find a pattern so had to cobble one together myself the blue one was a prototype...there has been some tantrums I can tell you!) |

And then we had SNOW!OK it only lasted the day, Snow in April.
we woke to this ...We went to a local village across the valley called Krumlin.We were on a bit of a mission...Hubby has been reading a book about the 1970 Krumlin music festival, we went to see if we could find where it was staged...it was a disaster by all accounts but some famous people did play including Elton John! as we headed home the sleet arrived.Some time has been spent in the garden, the cats love it when we are out in the garden.We were lucky enough to go away to Northumberland for six days in April and I celebrated my birthday there. I will do a post about that another day.
So many beautiful photos. How I wish I had such lovely places to wander and roam. I've heard of memory quilts but the kitties sure sound delightful. I have no doubt they are going to be the sweetest things and will be treasured by the recipients.

ReplyDeleteLovely photos...it was like having a wonderful,long walk without getting out of the armchair! And so interesting!I had to look twice at the photo with the bandstand as it’s so much like the one in our town!

April weather was so strange at times and now we have winter in May! Lovely exciting times for you both to enjoy. Hare Hill Park looks fascinating:)
